Anthony Rizzo, DJ LeMahieu, and Jake Cousins of the Yankees have been dealing with injuries. Rizzo suffered fractures to his fourth and fifth fingers on his right hand after being hit by a pitch during Saturday’s game against the Pirates. Manager Aaron Boone believes Rizzo could still play in the postseason.
LeMahieu has been dealing with a right hip impingement but hopes to be involved in baseball activities soon and be available for the American League Division Series starting on October 5th.
Cousins, who has a right pectoral strain, played catch for the first time since being placed on the injured list. He is making progress towards returning to action.
Yordan Alvarez of the Astros has a sprained right knee but will resume baseball activities soon. He remains an option for their Wild Card Series roster.

Miguel Rojas aggravated a groin injury during Wednesday’s game and will be sidelined for at least a few games. His status remains uncertain moving forward.
Jeff McNeil of Mets fractured his right wrist and is awaiting follow-up X-rays before determining when he can resume baseball activities.

Sewald had neck discomfort but recently threw bullpen sessions and faced hitters in live batting practice sessions. If D-backs make it to postseason, Sewald could potentially return to action then.
Frelick sustained significant bone bruise in his left hip which puts him out indefinitely; however, initial tests did not reveal any other structural damage so there’s possibility he may return if Brewers make deep postseason run.
