A 22-year-old man has been sent to the public prosecutor’s office after being arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. The incident occurred in a parking lot in Oirase Town, Aomori Prefecture, where the suspect, Shuya Sasaki, allegedly stabbed a 38-year-old male office worker multiple times with a fruit knife. The attack took place at approximately 8:20 p.m. on September 6th and was reported by NHK.
The victim, who hails from Misawa City and remains unidentified, was rushed to a hospital in Hachinohe City for treatment. Although his condition is serious, it is currently stable. According to police reports, the victim claimed to have no prior knowledge of Sasaki.
Sasaki himself is an unemployed resident of Towada City. Authorities apprehended him on suspicion of attempted murder following the stabbing incident in the supermarket parking lot. The motive behind the attack remains unknown at this time.
