Tottenham secured their second win of the Premier League season with a 3-1 victory over Brentford at home. The Bees took an early lead, just like they did in their previous match against Manchester City, but were unable to hold on as Spurs dominated the game.
Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring for Brentford within the first minute with a stunning volley. However, Dominic Solanke equalized for Tottenham after pouncing on a rebound from James Maddison’s shot.
Tottenham continued to press forward and took the lead before the half-hour mark when Brennan Johnson found the far corner of the net. They had several chances to extend their lead but were denied by some impressive saves from Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken.
In the second half, both teams had opportunities to score, but it was James Maddison who sealed the victory for Tottenham with a delicate finish past Flekken.
Despite Brentford’s efforts to find an equalizer, they were unable to break through Tottenham’s defense. The result leaves them still searching for their first win of the season.
For Tottenham, Maddison was instrumental in midfield and received praise for his performance. On the other hand, Brentford’s goalkeeper Flekken made some outstanding saves despite conceding three goals.
