Shigeru Ishiba, Japan’s New Prime Minister, Forms Cabinet and Plans to Dissolve Lower House on Oct. 9

Liberal Democratic Party ⁢President‍ Shigeru Ishiba has been appointed as the new prime‍ minister​ in an‌ extraordinary Diet session held⁢ on Tuesday. Following ‍the investiture⁣ ceremony for Ishiba and the attestation ceremony for newly appointed ministers at the Imperial Palace, the new Cabinet ⁣was launched on Tuesday night.

During a‍ press conference that evening, Ishiba outlined his administration’s basic ⁣policies and major policy⁢ agendas.
