On the other hand, Eric Garcia had a disastrous outing after being drafted into midfield due to Dani Olmo’s injury. Within ten minutes, Garcia received a red card for dragging down Takumi Minamino, which ultimately cost Barcelona the game.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen also had a subpar performance as he made an ill-advised pass that led to Garcia’s red card incident. Ter Stegen struggled with distribution throughout the match due to Monaco’s high press, resulting in numerous errors on the ball. Additionally, he could have done better in saving Ilenikhena’s shot as it was fired straight at him.
